About Kazim
Dr. Kazim Kemal-ur-Rahim holds a doctorate in Agronomy and has spent thirty years working in international development. That career has brought a practical concern with how people, communities and environments develop—and with the conditions that allow meaningful change to take place.
Alongside his professional work, he has studied esoteric thought since childhood. For the past eleven years, his study has focused particularly on Hylozoics: a philosophical framework that seeks to present matter, consciousness and motion as inseparable aspects of reality.
These two strands of experience—the practical and the philosophical—meet in his work today. He is interested not simply in collecting ideas, but in asking whether a wider framework can help us understand the ordinary experiences through which a life is actually lived.
Two connected projects
Kazim created Adventures of the Monad to present a coherent and extensive knowledge base centred on Hylozoics, while tracing its connections to earlier schools of esoteric thought.
Hidden in Plain Life begins somewhere more immediate. It explores how we might better understand our lives and their purpose by examining lived experience—our thoughts, emotions, reactions, relationships and moments of attention—and by noticing how deeper patterns underpin much of what we ordinarily take for granted.
Why this project exists
Many people sense that the usual explanations of life leave something important untouched, yet they do not want dogma, grand promises or specialist language. Hidden in Plain Life begins with experiences almost anyone can recognise and develops its enquiry carefully from there.
